Primary weapons are Soul’s main means of fighting, and he can carry two at once at most. The documents count thirty of them, split into three families: one-handed blades, two-handed blades, and dual-wield blades. Each weapon differs in attack power, stagger power, attacks and Sha-Chi attacks, ultimate, and execution animation, and some of them change the feel of your dodge and guard as well.

Weapon Upgrade System
Upgrading a primary weapon costs at least mind dust, metal and solvent, and runs to thirty levels at most. Each level raises attack power and stagger power; at certain levels a weapon gains new moves and traits, and how you handle it and how you build your fights around it can change out of all recognition. Past level 10 a weapon needs reverse-refining talismans. A weapon’s level can be reset with nothing lost.
The equipment screen shows weapons carrying a purple icon grade, which looks like a special kind of upgrade.
