Pre-release analysis. The record for this fight is short: a boss tag, melee combat, one drop. Moveset, arena, and phase count are not published. Anything below that is not a stated fact is marked as our expectation, not as tested information.
What the record holds
Hua Qianxiao sits on both boss rosters, which disagree on their own count: one lists 20 named plus 6 provisionally named, the other 21 named. He fights in melee. Killing him drops Chizhe Canjian, a broken one-handed blade — a primary weapon, not a Phantom Edge, and it upgrades along the standard metal-and-solvent path.
No health value, no arena description, no move list. The name is flavor, not a mechanic, so we build nothing on it.
Loadout before the door
A duel with no adds rewards consistency over burst. Take the gear you can run the same way ten times.
| Slot | Take | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Primary weapon | Your faster blade in slot 1 | Parry windows are short; recovery beats reach |
| Second blade | A different breaker value | The swap is your guard-break escape, so treat it as utility |
| Phantom Edge | A shield-breaker if you have one | Unconfirmed whether he guards, but the cost of carrying it is zero |
| Potion bottles | 2 healing charges | Healing is the only way to convert a bad read into a survivable one |
| Accessories | Damage and shield pressure | Long duels are decided by how fast his bar empties |
Reads that work on any duelist
Each row is a system rule applied to a boss we have not tested in this build.
| Situation | Likely answer | Confidence |
|---|---|---|
| Blue-light | Parry it. Do not hold guard stance through it — automatic block drains the bar you need later | High — system rule |
| Red-light | Dodge late. Red-light attacks track, so an early dodge puts you back inside the swing | Medium — tracking inferred, not stated |
| Enemy parry stance | Stop swinging. Attacking into a stance gives him a throw attempt | High — system rule |
| Two-hit string into a heavy | Block the string, eat nothing, then punish the heavy’s recovery | Medium — pattern typical of heavy weapons, unconfirmed here |
Sha-Chi math for a long fight
Duelists punish overspending more than any other enemy type. Run the fight as a budget.
- Open with plain attacks only. They cost nothing and they tell you how he reacts to pressure.
- Spend Sha-Chi attacks when his bar is low, not when yours is full. The goal is a guard break, not damage.
- Stop spending the moment your own bar drops under a third. Parries refund Sha-Chi; trades do not.
- Bank pure Sha-Chi for one ultimate inside his break window. That is the only burst that matters.
When the bar breaks
A guard break is not a death sentence. Treating it as one loses duels.
- Swap primary weapons. The swap clears the state and refills your bar, and the blade you put away goes on cooldown.
- While broken, you cannot enter guard stance or fire a Sha-Chi attack. Do not try. Retreat and reset spacing.
- Expect a punish attempt the moment your bar empties. If he commits to a heavy, the recovery is your free window.

FAQ
Is this a full guide? No. It is a pre-release approach: system rules plus a loadout plan. It becomes a full guide once the fight is testable.
Should I farm anything before him? Two weapons at upgrade parity, and both potion slots filled. Nothing boss-specific is confirmed.
What if he strings reds together? Parry the plain hits, dodge the lit ones. Color logic does not change with string length; your spacing does.
