the Marionette are mechanism puppets built by Mirage, worked by fine threads and shaped like living people. They are one of the showpieces of Mirage’s mechanical arts, often used for assassination and scouting, and they are among the most feared weapons Mirage commands.
Overview
A marionette is a precision mechanism puppet built by Mirage, worked by extremely fine threads, quick in motion and shaped like a living person. Weapons and mechanisms are hidden inside it, and it can carry out complex tasks; it is among the most feared weapons Mirage commands. Building one is extraordinarily involved work, and only Mirage’s core artificers can manage it.
Design Features
- A puppet worked by fine threads, shaped like a living person
- Quick in motion, able to imitate any human movement
- Weapons and mechanisms hidden inside
- Often used for assassination and scouting
- Involved craftsmanship — only a core artificer can build one
Combat Style
In a fight a marionette usually confuses its opponent with uncanny movements, then launches a surprise attack with the weapons hidden inside it. The threads themselves are weapons too, able to bind and cut. Feeling neither pain nor fear, a marionette fights with no regard for its own life, which makes it extremely hard to deal with.
